James Morris is based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. He is a solo pianist, rehearsal pianist, accompanist and teacher of piano, keyboard, flute, recorder and music theory.

James graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a BMus (Hons) degree, specialising in piano performance. He has recently achieved his Diploma from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in piano performance.

Before studying music at university, James had experience as both a solo pianist and accompanist before and during his secondary school and A-Level education. He was also employed by the Nuneaton Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society as a rehearsal pianist for the productions of Godspell and Guys and Dolls. His solo repertoire increased substantially whilst at university, performing works by a variety of composers, including Preludes and Fugues by J.S. Bach, Sonatas by Haydn and Mozart and Waltzes by Chopin.

During his degree, James was in great demand as an accompanist for performance exams and recitals for instrumentalists and singers. He was the rehearsal pianist and Musical Director of the Huddersfield University Drama Society for successful performances of Godspell and Return to the Forbidden Planet. Since his return to the Midlands, James has regularly accompanied a variety of instrumentalists in Associated Board music examinations, and was recently the official accompanist for the woodwind, strings and brass section of the Nuneaton Festival of Arts.

He has worked as Musical Director for the Spa Theatre Company Youth Section, and is currently Musical Director of the Nuneaton branch of the Society of Recorder Players.

As a solo pianist, he has performed varying styles of music by a range of different composers, from Scarlatti and J.S. Bach through to the classical and romantic styles of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt, also covering the Impressionist and modern styles offered by the compositions of Debussy, Szymanowski and Graham Fitkin. James has performed on piccolo with the Spires Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a member of the Bedworth Symphony Orchestra, with whom he plays flute and piccolo.
